Client/Server System Administrator In this role, you will work as part of the CSO, Enterprise Server Management team to provide support for the operational server infrastructure of Aliant’s Enterprise Customers. Role and Responsibilities:Provides day-to-day technical hardware and software support for Windows-based environments (both physical and virtual)Provides day-to-day technical support for layered applications including, but not limited to:  Citrix, VMware, Exchange, BES, SharePoint, Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SMS and Microsoft      ClusteringReviews system and application logs, and reports on errors or anomaliesPerforms capacity and performance analysis of server environmentsIdentifies recommendations for operational improvementsEnsures production environments are monitored and up-to-date in terms of backups, system patches and upgradesImplements solutions including developing hardware specifications, security policy software installation, troubleshooting and morePrepares and updates documentation (technical architecture updates, system documentation, disaster recovery plans, etc)Works with Aliant’s Enterprise Service Managers to provide service to Aliant’s External Enterprise CustomersPerform planned work during non-regular business hoursParticipates in the on-call rotation Desired Skills: Mature understanding of Microsoft Windows-based operating systemMature knowledge of Windows system administration tools and processesFamiliarity with networked/distributed computing environment conceptsExperience in complex operating environments including virtualization and clusteringTechnical architectural design / consulting skillsProgramming / scripting experience in VB, WSH, PowerShell, etcKnowledge of ITIL Fundamentals Personal QualitiesClient focusedTeam playerSelf motivatedWell-organizedAbility to multi-task in a demanding environmentStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent inter-personal and communications (oral and written) skills Experience:  Two to five years of experience in technical troubleshootingSystem administration experience in a Windows physical / virtual environment.Extensive experience in hardware technical troubleshooting Education:Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)Relevant certifications Location: St. John’s Newfoundland Band: 10 If you are interested in this opportunity please submit your application online by April 21, 2014. Bell Aliant is an equal opportunity employer
